Melvin Mayo serves as the Vice President of Operations & Resources for the Whispering Pines Memorial Cemetery Board, where he plays a vital role in spearheading restoration efforts. A graduate of Bastrop High School and Alcorn State University, Melvin brings a wealth of experience from his 30-plus years as a Logistics Management Specialist with the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command. His leadership skills and organizational expertise are instrumental in overseeing the operational aspects of the cemetery’s revitalization project.

With a deep-rooted connection to Bastrop and its community, Melvin is driven by a desire to restore the dignity of those buried at Whispering Pines Cemetery.
